Handling rejected assets

Created by Dimi, Modified on Fri, 19 Jun at 11:13 AM by Dimi

When an asset is rejected, you will receive an email with:

  • The rejection reason
  • Additional details/comments
  • A link to Launchpad

You can access rejected items via the Rejected Packages section in Launchpad:

Important: Do Not Create a New Package

You must use the existing package to resolve rejected assets.

Creating a new package may result in:

  • Duplicate submissions
  • Loss of review history
  • Delays in approval

The rejection workflow is designed to guide you through the required fixes.

Rejection Expiry

  • Rejected assets/packages will be permanently deleted after 7 days

Resolving a Rejected Asset

  1. Open the rejected package
  2. Locate the rejected asset
  3. Click “Resolve”

You will be shown:

  • Who rejected the asset
  • The rejection reason
  • What needs to be fixed.

Choose the Correct Action

Metadata Issue

  • Select “Update metadata”
  • Review the rejection details
  • Update the required fields
  • Click “Resolve” to submit

File Issue (e.g. ingest error, incorrect spec, corrupt file)

  • Select “Reupload File”
  • Upload the corrected file
  • Metadata is retained automatically
  • You are not required to update metadata unless needed

Add a Comment

  • Use for clarification or communication only
  • This does not resolve the issue on its own

What Happens Next

  • The asset is reprocessed (ingested)
  • The asset will return for review and approval

Key Reminders

  • Always follow the rejection details provided
  • Only update metadata when required
  • Ensure file issues are fully resolved before re-uploading
  • Re-uploading an unchanged or incorrect file may result in another rejection
